For offline assignments, (i.e. those that do not exist as a digital artefact such as paper exams, artistic performances, eportfolios, in-class presentations) you can still use Moodle to provide feedback even if the original work was not submitted online. You have a choice of using a Turnitin inbox or using a Moodle assignment inbox which has the added benefit of enabling you to download a grading worksheet for adding grades and comments offline that can be then easily uploaded back into the inbox to populate grades and comments fields.
Click Turn editing on Go to the Assessment section of the module for adding assessment information and assessment inboxes. Click on the Add an activity or resource menu in the section Select the Assignment (Turnitin Type) option The only default settings you will need to set/change will be: Turnitin assignment name: Give your assignment a name under 40 characters e.g. offline presentation feedback (no submission required) Summary: Information about feedback and marking can be added if here needed and if needed a reminder that students are not required to submit to this inbox. Anonymous Marking: No Start date: Set a date that has already passed Due Date: Set a date that has already passed Post date: The post date should still be the date that you want students to be able to see their feedback and grades Allow Submissions after the Due Date: No You can choose to attach a rubric to this assignment if required Visible: Hide – making the inbox visible can avoid confusing students as they may think they should have submitted work to the inbox. You must remember to unhide the inbox in time for when the marks are due to be released. Group mode: Group mode can be used to split students into groups for marking purposes if useful. Setting up groups for multiple markers. Click Save and return to course.
