Introduction to Nearpod
Nearpod is an online presentation and polling application, which allows users to upload existing presentations (e.g. PowerPoint) as well as create new ones from scratch. Nearpod provides the ability to add interactive features such as quiz questions, polling, drawing questions and many more.
Teachers can share their presentations with students by providing the presentation ‘Pin’ for the session using computers or mobile devices.
Nearpod is compatible with most iOS devices including iPod, iPhone and iPad running iOS 5 or higher, but we strongly recommend to update your device to the latest iOS and ensure you have the latest Nearpod app installed on your device.
Nearpod officially supports the following devices on the Android platform: Samsung Galaxy Tab 7″ and 10″, Nexus 7″ and 10″, and Nook HD. On devices with screens smaller than 7″ Nearpod will only run the Student view.
For desktops, laptops and Android devices not currently supported by the Android app, use a web browser such as Chrome or Firefox (Internet Explorer is not supported) and go to nearpod.com/web.
If you have an account already, log into Nearpod. If not, please go to http://nearpod.com/signup and then fill out the form and click on ‘Sign Up’.
NOTE: Students will not need a separate account or login credentials to access your presentations. You will share with them a unique PIN for your session.
