While the students are finishing up their academic year, we are busier than ever! We’re getting lots of queries about marking and grades. We are also preparing for rollover, where we get the Moodle site ready for the next year. More information to follow soon on the exciting updates to Moodle!
This year’s eLearningMeet will be held from 11am-3pm on 27 June. The theme is Exploring Digital Capabilities at UR. We have an exciting lineup of speakers from Jisc and departments across the university, as well as a free lunch! Find out more about the presenters and book on our events page.
The Roehampton policy is to use anonymous marking in Turnitin. However we know that sometimes you may need to remove anonymity before the grades are released. We have a guide that explains how to reveal an individual’s name, for example if you are investigating suspected plagiarism or mitigating circumstances. You can also reveal the whole class, though we don’t recommend it unless it’s critical, as it can cause syncing issues with the gradebook.
If you have a large group and need to divide marking between teachers, you can auto-create groups while maintaining anonymity.
How to unlock read only inboxes
If you are getting a message that your Turnitin inbox is read only, here’s how to fix it.
Please contact your department administrator directly if your external examiners can’t access the Moodle sites they need. Moodle support can’t enrol them as we don’t know which sites they should be allowed to access.
If you’re unsure what your external examiners need to know to use Moodle, please see the getting started guide provided for external examiners. We also have information on how to give them access to ePortfolios.
